Playa de Santiago Harbour

A quaint fishing and sports harbour in La Gomera

The small fishing town of Playa de Santiago, in the south of La Gomera, has a harbour dedicated to fishing, commercial and leisure boats. This is an ideal port for small- to medium-sized vessels but it can admit boats of up to 30 metres. It’s worth noting that Puerto de Santiago’s harbour is open to the south swells and that its main breakwater measures 222 meters.

Local gastronomy next to the harbour

The water in Playa de Santiago’s harbour is 4.5 metres deep, and the harbour itself offers 100 berths and a small car park. Boat trips and ferries that connect this quiet seaside town with different points of the island depart from the quayside, which is worth bearing in mind when entering the harbour. The cafés and restaurants of Playa de Santiago have retained the local gastronomy and there is still a strong fishing spirit. It’s the perfect place to taste typical Canarian dishes.
