Millennial Dragon Tree Park

The millennial dragon tree in Icod de los Vinos

In Icod de los Vinos, in the north of Tenerife, there is a living National Monument: the famous millennial dragon tree (drago milenario), which is believed to be over 800 years old. It is main attraction by far in this park and a symbol of Tenerife, standing at 18 metres high and with a 20-metre perimeter. The best way to get to know the tree and other endemic species from the islands is to visit the Millennial Dragon Tree Park, where you can walk around the paths and gardens.

History and traditions in a natural setting

Visitors to the park can also see examples of ancient burial zones of Tenerife’s aborigines (the Guanches), and different examples of island traditions that are still alive today. There is a picnic area within the park as well as a team of guides specialising in Canarian flora who will happily answer any questions.
