Agaete - Artenara

From the west coast this route starts with a very technical and complicated climb up along Camino de los Romeros. Once you’ve reached the top you have amazing views of the ocean and the green valleys of Agaete and Tirma. The route continues through pine forests along pine needle trails. This shifts into more technical trails passing the valleys of Tamadaba and the second descent to Tirma is very technical with loose stones and pine needles, and some parts of the trail are very narrow. The trail is more complicated if wet.

The climb from Tirma is hard, almost straight, but with the odd zigzag and steps up to Altavista where the view of Roque Nublo and Pico de Las Nieves is spectacular. The route ends in Artenara. This is a very challenging run with two steep and complicated climbs.
