The San José Pilgrim

Barranco Hondo celebrates its traditional "pilgrim" as part of the festivities in honor of San José, starting at the church and passing through various streets of the town. The procession includes a stop at the iconic El Tagorillo square to enjoy performances by folk groups, concluding with a lively dance in the main square. Although the town's festivities have included activities such as parades and regional singing exhibitions since the mid-20th century, the current format of the "romería" has been held uninterruptedly since 1984, establishing itself as a deeply rooted community celebration.
