The Polite Visit

The Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna presents "The Polite Visit", a play that offers a disturbing ethical reflection on morality, guilt, and the trauma of those who survive tragedy. Set in occupied France during World War II, the story centers on an encounter between a widow and an S.S. officer, whose politeness, culture, and apparent refinement starkly contrast with the brutal intent behind his visit. Within a minimal stage design, tension builds through dialogue, exposing how knowledge and education can coexist with barbarity, confronting the audience with the complexity of evil and its justifications.
