24 May to 1 September
TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes presents "Y", an exhibition by artist Nela Ochoa curated by Nilo Panlezuela. This work is a journey through letters, representations, dreams, and genetic sequences exploring the dimension of the Y chromosome as a symbol of masculinity that permeates through social bodies via wars, violations, militarism, and totalitarian power. However, the artwork also delves into the "X" chromosome, symbolizing the principle of hope and the possibility of duplication. Through this genetic duality, a metaphor of resistance against violence is explored. This exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect, poeticize, comprehend, and translate art as communicating vessels, stemming from a radically political proposal conceived from a female perspective.
