27 June to 29 September
The temporary exhibition "Retinografías" by Rosa Abreu, at the Museum of History and Anthropology of Tenerife in Casa Lercaro, explores the intersection between the senses and the museum, questioning the historical predominance of vision. Through photographs, Abreu invites reflection on how we perceive the world when vision is affected, revealing scenes of altered vision that challenge traditional norms of representation in museums. This exhibition challenges visual and museological essentialisms, proposing new ways to appreciate reality beyond the merely visible, while critiquing the Western bias that has historically prioritized sight as the sole source of knowledge and cultural validation.
