San Andrés Tables

The Fiesta de las Tablas de Icod de los Vinos turns this Canary Island town into the heart of a vibrant local celebration. Residents prepare wooden tea tables to slide down the steep streets in a tradition that dates back to ancient times when wood was transported from higher areas. The festival spans two days, with the main activity taking place on Antonio González Street, known as El Plano. In addition to the thrilling table slides, the event features the opening of wine cellars with the uncorking of new wine and the tasting of chestnuts.
