Descripción del evento

Los Diabletes de Teguise in Lanzarote is a celebration that traces its origins back to the ritual dances of the ancient mahos, the island’s aboriginal people. Initially, these diabletes wore goat skins and goat-horned masks, symbolizing strength and virility. Over time, their attire evolved to fit the carnival spirit, with linen costumes and ox masks. Today, the diabletes wear white trousers and shirts decorated with red and black diamonds, along with leather straps and bells. They also carry sticks with sacks to scare the attendees.
