St Patrick's Day

The St. Patrick’s Festival in La Palma transforms Santa Cruz de La Palma into a meeting point for music, tradition, and Irish culture. Over several days, the event brings together more than thirty musicians from Spain and Ireland, offering a program that includes traditional music sessions in local bars, concerts in Plaza de Santo Domingo, and a heartfelt tribute to the Irish community on the island. Highlights include performances by Deira and The Jig Kickers, renowned in the international folk scene, as well as a spectacular parade featuring bagpipers dressed in traditional attire, marching through the streets to Plaza de San Francisco. Additionally, the festival honors Dionisio O’Daly, a historical figure of Irish origin in La Palma. With a blend of live music, history, and a vibrant festive atmosphere, this event celebrates the strong ties between Spain and Ireland in a truly unique setting.
