Festivities of the crosses

"Mayo on the island of La Palma (Canary Islands), mainly on its eastern side, is synonymous with the festival of the Crosses and the Mayos.
The municipalities of Villa de Mazo, Breña Baja, Breña Alta and, of course, Santa Cruz de La Palma, are the protagonists of a centuries-old tradition, which embodies the artistic talent of hundreds of volunteer artisans, who each year make true works of art, with common earth products such as seeds and flowers, as well as colored fabrics and papers, among many other materials."
