A cry against the violence of wars is the master line of Miguel Delibes' novel The Wars of Our Ancestors, published in 1975. From the name of the protagonist, "Pacifico", to the terrible end of the work, the author from Valladolid defended throughout his pages peace against war and non-violence as a way of life.
