1 to 6 July
The National Folklore Festival Isla de Gran Canaria transforms Estrella and Guía into a vibrant cultural melting pot every August. This event is notable for its warm reception of folklore ambassadors from various regions, exceeding all expectations. During the festival, the region fills with music and dances from different traditions, such as the Isa parrandera blending with the Jota, and the Malagueña merging with the Fandango. The Seguidilla showcases its Manchegan origins, while the Sorondongo intertwines with the ancestral dance of the Jerigonza. This cultural gathering acts as a bridge between different traditions, providing a friendly and festive atmosphere that invites participants to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage and share their passion for folklore in a renewed setting each summer.
