La Traída del Palo - Fiestas de San Roque

The Traída del Palo is one of the most prominent events in Firgas, celebrated in honor of San Roque. In this festivity, the locals transport a large wooden pole from the mountain to the San Roque square. Once in the square, a flag is raised at the top of the pole, and the challenge is to climb the pole to kiss the flag. This thrilling challenge is only for the bravest and always attracts numerous spectators. The Traída del Palo, restored four decades ago, symbolizes the community's strength and unity, becoming a deeply rooted tradition in Firgas.
