Anabel Alonso: La Celestina

The event is a performance of "La Celestina," starring Anabel Alonso at the Ateneo Municipal de Vecindario. The plot follows Calisto, a young nobleman who falls in love with Melibea in her garden. After Melibea rejects him, Calisto, guided by his servant Sempronio, turns to the procuress Celestina to win her love. Celestina succeeds in making Melibea fall in love, but Calisto's servants, not receiving the promised gold chain, kill Celestina and are executed. The drama escalates with Calisto's death after falling while trying to help his servant Sosia, and Melibea's suicide in the wake of her father Pleberio's grief, who concludes the tragicomedy with moral and existential reflections.
