The Sea: A Vision of Children Who Have Never Seen It

The Palace of Training and Congresses of Fuerteventura presents "The Sea: A Vision of Children Who Have Never Seen It," an emotional narrative about the promise made by Antoni Benaiges, a young Catalan teacher, to his students at the rural school of Bañuelos de Bureba, in Burgos. In 1936, Benaiges promises to take them to see the sea, something none of them had ever experienced. A few months earlier, in January of that same year, the children published a book titled The Sea, which expresses, in verse, their imaginations, fears, and dreams about the ocean.
