Hospitality sector strike during Easter Holidays on the Islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro.

From the Canary Islands, we would like to share important information regarding your visit during this Easter season in 2025.

On April 17 and 18, part of the hospitality sector staff on the islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro has called for a strike to demand better working conditions. This mobilization, which may affect the operation of some accommodations, restaurants, and other tourism services, reflects a reality that is also part of life in our destinations: the daily effort of thousands of people who make possible the experience you enjoy during your vacation.

We want to express our respect and empathy for the workers whose professionalism and dedication have been key to keeping the Canary Islands a welcoming and high-quality destination. This strike is a legitimate way for them to voice their demands, and we trust that dialogue among all parties will contribute to finding fair and sustainable solutions.

What can you expect as visitors on the islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro?

While many services will continue to operate normally, during the strike days you may encounter:

  • Occasional changes or interruptions in hotel, bar, and restaurant services.
  • Reduced hours or limited staff availability.
  • Higher crowds in open establishments, which may cause delays.
